Yeah, i noticed that other one too. You know, you’re right. Generally, in tv-shows and movies, such details are always presented in particular way to stregthen the message of scene. Camera angle/background colour- all can influence the interpretation. (Remember how in the Breadstix scene with Kurt in “Heart” Dave is surrounded by hearts and red colour?)

The screaming photo of a guy who was cyberbullying Dave totally makes sense; it exacerbates the feeling of imminence and encirclement that Dave was experiencing.

But in that case, Dave’s photo is really inaproppiate. He should have there some neutral or smiling picture as he’s the opressed one. We’re supposed feel for him, not chuckle at the angry derp face.

And it’s not just random “a angry pic”. They used a screencap from NBK. From the scene in which Dave bullies Kurt. Ridiculous.

The one thing such details should never do is to pull the attention from the meritum of the scene- and i think Dave’s photo kind of did that. I didn’t notice it the first time because I was to focused on crying, but when you rewatch the episode it just… it’s there. It creates this sort of dissonance in the scene.

Wow… I think we gave it more thought the actual interent-sites-making department lol.

So, to answer your ask… I’m still not sure whether it was supposed to be a brilliant symbolism that didn’t work out or just the creators of that site woke up 5 minutes before the deadline and plastered there first pics they found in google images. (but i’m more inclined to the second option).
